Add images to build a spritesheet.

How to use

The Merge tool combines separate PNG or JPG images into one spritesheet PNG in a grid. Ideal for re-packing frames from Cut Sheet, hand-drawn sequences, or edited exports before preview in Animate.

Step-by-step

  1. Drag multiple images onto the drop zone, or browse with multi-select.
  2. Files sort by name — use names like walk_0001.png, walk_0002.png.
  3. Set Cols (columns per row). Rows are calculated from image count.
  4. Set Pad for spacing between cells if needed for your engine.
  5. Preview on canvas, then click Export PNG.

Cell sizing & workflow

Each cell uses the maximum width and height among all images; smaller frames are centered. Use transparent PNG for game sprites.

  • Open Animate — preview animation without downloading first.
  • Open Metadata — generate JSON/XML atlas with frame coordinates.

FAQ

How is frame order determined?
Sorted by filename. Use zero-padded numbers (001, 002) for reliable order.
Different image sizes?
Yes — cell expands to largest image; smaller ones are centered in each cell.
JSON metadata?
Export PNG only here. Use Metadata or Open Metadata for atlas files.
