Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 1, 2026 · Contact: contact@spinepreview.com

This Privacy Policy explains how Spine Preview (“we”, “us”, or “the Service”) at spinepreview.com collects, uses, and protects information when you use our free, browser-based tool to preview and export Spine skeleton animations.

1. Summary

Spine Preview is designed to process your Spine export files locally in your browser. We do not require an account, and we do not intentionally upload your skeleton, atlas, or image files to our servers for preview or export.

2. Information we do not collect from your files

When you import assets into the viewer:

  • Files you select or drop remain on your device and are read by client-side JavaScript.
  • Exported PNG or spritesheet output is generated in your browser and saved via your browser’s download mechanism.
  • We do not operate a backend that stores your project files for the core viewer feature.

3. Information that may be collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics partners may receive limited technical data, such as:

  • IP address (often truncated or anonymized by the provider)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, referring URL, and approximate region
  • Date and time of access and basic performance or error logs

This data helps us keep the site secure, measure traffic, and improve reliability. See our Cookie Policy for details on cookies and similar technologies.

4. Third-party services

The Service may load or link to third parties, including:

  • Hosting (e.g. Cloudflare Pages) — delivers static files and may log requests.
  • Advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) — if enabled, may use cookies to show and measure ads. Google’s policies apply to ad personalization and opt-out tools.
  • Donation links — PayPal, Ko-fi, or Telegram open on their own sites under their privacy terms.
  • CDN assets — e.g. Ko-fi button images loaded from external hosts.

We do not control how third parties process data on their domains. Review their policies before interacting.

5. Cookies and local storage

We may use essential cookies or browser storage for site functionality and preferences. Advertising or analytics cookies, if used, are described in the Cookie Policy. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

6. Legal bases and purposes (EEA/UK visitors)

Where applicable, we process personal data to:

  • Provide and secure the website (legitimate interests / contract)
  • Comply with law (legal obligation)
  • Run analytics or advertising with consent where required

7. Data retention

Server logs and analytics are retained only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and reporting, according to our providers’ schedules. Data on your device (cached files, downloads) is controlled by you.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact contact@spinepreview.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International transfers

Our hosting and partners may process data in countries other than yours. We rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers where required.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
